Blackcore Networking Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
Blackcore networking (BCN) provides Internet services for private
customers. Services provided by BCN are provided on a limited basis. All
services provided by BCN are provided as a privilege and may be revoked at
any time, without prior notice, or reason. Uesrs who provide donations are NOT
exempt from this policy.
Users are required to strictly obide by BCN's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).
Users with written notification are exempt from privileges listed. Users
may check their exemption status through either the member webpage, or
through the `bcn` command-line.
BCN disclaims any warranty or merchantability/fitness; this includes, but
is not limited to data loss, disruption of service, lack of service,
All services are restricted by the list below, unless provided with an exempt
status on a per-rule basis.
1) Users with no common sense, if you can obey this rule, you can obey all the
rules below. There are NO exemptions for this rule, so do not request one.
2) Any type of adult content (hardcore porn, child pornography (under 18 years of age),
beastality, pictures with nudity, exposing pictures, questionable content including video,
images or audio.
3) Distribution or storage of media (audio or video) files is strictly prohibited
regardless of copyright status. Users may distribute material that they have
explicitly created, as long as material does not include copyrighted material.
(e.g. jukebox with a copyrighted background song.)
Providing contact information is recommended.
4) Software storage is prohibited unless documented proof of ownership of
software is presented, with consent to distribute.
5) High resource consumption in long durations is not allowed, continuous
use of excessive resources may be presented with a warning, but may be terminated
without prior notice.
6) In accordance with the high consumption policy, users may not use services provided
to cause disruption of the machine the services are provided on, or any other
service. This includes, but is not limited to: SYN/ICMP/UDP flooding,
a trioo-net, IRC flooding/mass messaging, multiple requests to a website
a) Password cracking and brute forcing are prohibited.
b) Unsolicited messages, such as spamming are prohibited.
c) Security analysis (e.g. port scanning, icmp scanning)
d) Data mining (data includes text, binary data (images, video, audio, etc)
Examples include pharming/scanning/sending multiple requests through HTTP or
7) VPN Abuse
a) Attempting to alter your source address through BCN Virtual Private
Network (VPN), or through the main any of the gateway machines is prohibited.
b) Scanning (portscanning, ping scanning, etc) from your VPN without prior
consent of the target (end VPN), scanning through a gateway is prohibited.
8) Usage of service that may contribute to disruption of service is not suggested,
examples include, but are not limited to: behavior that is not suitable to the
service, or remote medium that is being used (flaming, trolling, repeatly scrolling,
flooding people, being a nuisance, lacking common sense, being stupid to the point
that BCN is contacted.)
9) Usage of any type of mail services, such as 'pine', 'mail', 'sendmail',
Net::SMTP' and 'php mail()' functions.
10) Sharing your account with any party is prohibited; if login addresses dictate
that you are sharing your account, you may be warned or terminated.
11) Background processes are not allowed (screen, nohup, bnc, etc)
12) Any action that is questionable. For instance, if the action that you are to
perform may cause an abuse report, refrain from doing so, even if you do not think
that you will "not get caught." This includes (but not limited to): automating services when
it is not normal to do so (data mining, automating events)), port scanning a friends machine.
13) File sharing, providing information to obtain illicit content is prohibited. Providing
links to copyright software, content requiring licensing or prohibiting distribution is also
prohibited. This also includes information that may violate government law, providing information
to obtain information that violates government law, and in addition content advising to break
government law is strictly prohibited.
14) All actions through our services should be lawful through the United States of America law,
and local government law. Since it is not probable that persons outside of the US may not know
US law it is expected that they use their best judgement to abide by US law.
Certain rules may be exempt if user has written notice that the user may be
exempt from the rule. You may check with the 'bcn show exempt' command, or by viewing
the members webpage. By default, no user is exempt from doing the above actions,
if you are not listed in the 'bcn show exempt', then you are not exempt. There is
no exceptions, unless otherwise stated.
When saving data in your public_html it is recommended to turn off Indexing if your directory
has data that may violate this AUP. This indicates that in the event that storing questionable content
for personal usage on the server should be protected from being accessed remotely by any party other than
the account owner. It is strongly recommended that such content not exist at all on your account, but if
such content does, that the content should only exist temporarily. This note is not meant to encourage users to
violate the AUP. In the event that the content in question effects only the account owner and in result
does not provide any access to the content other than the account owner, it is unlikely that BCN
will terminate the account under these circumstances.
BCN does not encourage users to store such content on their account.
Data is defined by data that is processed through any of our servers. This
includes files, network data, and any kind of memory allocation.
Your data may be viewed by BCN or any of its upstream providers without
your consent. BCN has no control over its upstream providers or how they
handle the data. It should also be noted that any data transferred in
between either your provider, or another provider to BCN may be
intercepted in between outside the network. BCN holds no liability for data.
It is suggested that you transfer data to your FTP account with an
encryption utility (SFTP/SCP) to avoid your password being sent over a
BCN holds customers responsible for account break-ins and malicious activity.
